2020 Fire Museum of Maryland - Four Alarm Collector Car Show
On Saturday July 17th, Chesapeake Region celebrated 2020 National Collector Car Appreciation Day with our first annual Four Alarm Collector Car Show at the fabulous Fire Museum of Maryland, located in Lutherville, Maryland.
With Maryland restrictions on gatherings having recently been eased, collector car owners were itching to hit the road again for some adventure.
Social distancing was still encouraged, and face masks were required for entry into the museum building.
But, after the many months of self-imposed isolation, the ability to socialize among fellow collector car owners in the open space of the large parking lot where we assembled, was obviously very welcome.
Chesapeake Region had held antique car shows at this venue in past years - but 2020 was to be different: our first, open-invitation, full collector car show to be held here.
Awards were to be given to the "Top 25" vehicles, as well as the "Favorite" pick of the Museum staff.
That "Favorite" pick of the Museum staff turned out to be this 1930 Pierce-Arrow.
What sort of turnout would we have? Had our publicity reached its intended audience?
Publicized to begin at 11 am, over twenty cars were on the lot by 10 am, with more streaming in.
All doubts disappeared. By noontime a wide variety of over sixty vehicles were on display!
